It's easy as ABC...

Well, not quite, apparently. The last two days have been a struggle for me. A HUGE one. It all started out when we went to the in-laws for dinner on Christmas Eve. They were eating hotdogs and tater tots....not even kidding you! I was SO hungry by this point and was really hoping that my Mother in law would be cooking something decently healthy (she usually does). But unfortunately, my husband has a lot (and I mean A LOT) of little siblings, and they were pressed on time because we were going to church. So you'd think I would just pass on the unhealthy meal huh? NOPE! I was starved, and I ate. Yuck.

Then Christmas. It was an entire day (starting at 7 am, remember the husband has little siblings so we had to make it to the house early). From 7am forward, we were running around all day and gorging on goodies. Cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning is a tradition in his family, and of course I couldn't say no to that either! (in fact I don't think the word "no" even came out of my mouth yesterday!!). From there on it went wayyyyy downhill!

Today is a new day. I ran my C25k 6.1. I may have gained some weight from the last two days, but I am not letting that stop me on this mission to be fit!!

I got a Canon I got a Canon Rebel XSI for Christmas. (the shot above is one of the first ones I took). I started a photography blog. If you are interested, my photo blog link is: http://photorebellove.blogspot.com. Please come stop by!

Ugh...

I probably just ate like 3,000 calories.... I feel like I need to run an entire marathon to run that off! Yuck....

Jumping for JOY

After yesterday's post I definitely needed a "lift me up!" Well my scale was happy to oblige this morning as it told me I am at 9 pounds down!! It was telling me 8 yesterday but I decided not to believe it until two days in a row (see my "It's Possessed" post about how I feel about my scale). It has a BAD habit of going up one pound the next day so I usually wait one day to confirm that weight. But not today, I'm celebrating!! (Insert adorable little victory dance like Rebecca from Biggest Loser)

Today I am planning on starting the "couch to 5k" training. Since I know I am a little bit further ahead then week one or two, I am going to be starting on week 4. I can't believe that I am actually excited to run! What is wrong with me!?!?!?

In other happy and exciting news, Kellen gave me my Christmas present last night. (I know, we are horrible at waiting!). And I got.....an IPOD touch! This also made me super excited. I went to work right away loading the Sparkpeople App to count my calories and loading some good workout music. They even have an App full of healthy meals to cook! Hallelujah, just what I needed. Thanks, hubby! :)

All I Want for Christmas is to Lose Ten Pounds!

Haha! Sounds like a silly title, but, in all honesty....that would make me a very, very happy girl! Man, losing weight=MONEY. Which, sadly to say, Kellen and I have been struggling to find lately. But I have used that excuse WAY to many times to not start losing weight. But seriously, I can see why the diet industry is the biggest money making industry in America. Today I went to the store and felt a bit sick to my stomach when the cashier said the total. But then again, let's see here...I could buy a butt ton of macaroni and top ramen and get fat.....or....I could spend money taking care of my body by buying produce and fresh ingredients and feel better for the rest of my life.

Another $$ problem I'm struggling with is whether or not to join a gym. I looked into memberships yesterday and MAN are those things expensive!! Were talking close to 50.00 bucks a month. But I can think back to when I was a sophomore in H.S. and I used that pass ALL the time. And the classes look so fun (well maybe fun is not the right word...hehe).

It doesn't look like that's going to happen for a while though. Ah, well. I tried to convince Kellen to buy me a membership for Christmas...but he wasn't going for it. He's rather buy me jewelery...HA! :) what a good husband....

Thanksgiving- Blunders and Accomplishments

Well this long Thanksgiving was definitely a challenge to stay on track. Thursday, Thanksgiving day, we headed over to Kellen's grandparents house (the Bergen's) to chow down. I was pretty proud of myself here- although I was starving by the time food was served, I stuck with healthy choices (turkey, green beans, and small amount of mashed taters) and didn't go back for a second plate. Dessert time I had a very small slice of apple pie and some whipped cream.

I snacked on a couple of olives in between things and was excited to find out that five olives are only 25 calories! Woohoo!

When I got home I did some "loose" calculating of my calories for the day on livestrong.com and found I had around 700 calories left for the day! WOW. I had some rice and a skinny cow.

Needless to say, I was happy with my performance :).

The next two days were spent at my grandparents house, which, if anything is a temptation situation, this one is. Not only is my Grandma a great cook (in my opinion) but she cooks to feed the thousands (when there are only about 10 of us)!

All in all, I'm happy with the choices I made (despite my dessert choice on Friday...eeekk). I also walked on the treadmill on Friday instead of just opting out of exercise all together.

Today is sunday and I can't weigh myself (though I may just end up cheating!!). Ready for week 4 to start tomorrow.

Turkey Day..Oh the sweet, sweet sin of feasting

Day 18. Turkey day. Mashed potatoes, pies, pies, pies, food galore. Wish me luck.

On another frustrating note, the scale said only 4.5 down this morning. Ugh. I swear the thing is possessed. I am really thinking about investing in a new one. In the meantime, I feel I must cave in to Kellen's advice and stop weighing everyday. I think Mondays and Thursdays are my new weigh days. Can I hold out until Monday this week? We will see.
