Weigh in Week 26: Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes (a six month anniversary celebration)

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend filled with lots of sunshine, fresh fruits and veggies, and lots of outdoor activities.

Mine? Well, there was sunshine....and that's about it! :) But honestly, I'm getting kind of tired of saying "I didn't do well this weekend" or "I struggled this week"- because the fact is- I just lived. I tried to make healthy decisions every chance I could, but I made some bad ones too. And for me, that's really ok, because I can honestly say that choosing healthy things has become part of my "lifestyle" instead of my strict regiment I must follow at all costs.

You may have noticed the lack of blogging in the healthy living department lately, and honestly, the above paragraph pretty much summarizes why. It just feels pointless to me to come on here, day after day, and say the same thing: Well yesterday I did good. Then today I ate a piece of pizza. I worked out for a half hour, but today I didn't.

It just doesn't feel like I'm at that "struggling" place anymore- the one that was fighting against me trying to stop me from doing any of this altogether and return me to my couch potato ways. I can honestly say I've conquered that mountain- there is just no way I will ever go back.

And so I'm pressing forward through the "hills" and to be honest well, those hills just wouldn't be very fun to talk about. Like I said, I have my good days, and I have my bad, but I am committed to moving forward like I never was before.

So where does that put us?

Well, it means I might blog less. You may have gathered that from the lack of posts recently. But really it just means this blog is changing directions altogether.

For one thing, I intend to still weigh in every Monday- this keeps me accountable and helps me to evaluate my entire week and what I accomplished or could improve upon.

I also want to focus on "healthiness" as a whole- not just on losing the weight. This may mean I would bring up topics that having absolutely nothing to do with diet and exercise (which has actually happened a couple of times in the past couple of weeks).

Better said, this blog is becoming more of a "Nicole's Life" blog instead of a "Nicole's Weight" blog.
Hope that's ok!
(but really, it's going to happen whether you like it or not, sorry!)

Weigh in.

This week I lost two pounds! YAY! Do you know what that means? I've lost 35.5lbs altogether and earned myself this pretty little number:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

How exciting is that?!?

And guess what else that means?

On November 9, 2009- I set out to lose a total of 40lbs. I had no idea what I would look like at that weight- but I chose it because it was a nice even number and I couldn't ever remember weighing so little.

Exactly six months later (counted by weeks) I weigh 35.5lbs less than that day- I am 4.5lbs away from meeting that goal. I am pretty darn proud of myself.

:)

Happy Six Month Anniversary, Healthy Me!

Weigh in Week 20: New Kicks and You're In My Dreams!!

Hey guys. It's monday morning-(BLEH!) but you know what?! I'm feeling good! I will tell you why....

I LOST THREE POUNDS THIS WEEK!

WOooOOOhOOO!

That definitely makes up for the bitty birthday splurge week where I maintained. I am really excited because it is also my 5 month anniversary on this health journey. I have learned SO much and it's becoming more and more of a way of life. I love it.

In case you are wondering, that is a total of 31.5lbs lost in 5 months. :0)

I also got my new running shoes in the mail on Friday:
So far they feel wonderful! I wore them on my hike on Saturday but have not gone running in them yet. It will probably be a little later this week when I finally get out and test them along with my Nike+.

So happy! It just goes to show you what real focus and buckling down can do. I really tried hard this week and was hoping for a great number on the scale.

Good luck to you all this week. You can do this!

random: I had a dream last night that I was a manager for plus sized models. In one of them there were a few bloggers I know that were doing a photoshoot! HA!

My Weekend with the Hubs and the Cone Head

Well this weekend has been pretty fun! I've been starting out my mornings with a cup of coconut tea. Since I don't have an infuser, my lovely husband helped me invent something in it's place--its a coffee filter held in place by a refrigerator clip! Genius! This was made using my adorable tea kettle from Target that I received from my wedding. Between hot coco and tea, it gets a lot of use around here:
As for my exciting Friday night, it started off with a pampered chef party at my friend Hollie's house. I asked Kellen to take a picture of me before I left, and apparently the cone head (aka Chloe) wanted in on it as well!I decided to make the best of it...for her sake!
I had to jet right when I got home so kellen had to make dinner for himself...*dun dun dun* (que horror music now!)
Here is a pic of his spicy pork and rice creation:
And the verdict is.....
Sexy and delicious, apparently! Haha

It was mine and kellen's "dating anniversary" on friday. Who says you have to only celebrate wedding anniversaries when you get married? We've been together for 5 years!!
This is us four years ago. I love him!!

In health news...I am excited for my weigh in tomorrow. I went running on Saturday and set a new running record: 28 minutes straight. I'll be updating later this week on my running. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Wahoo!! Joyous celebration!!

Today is my two month anniversary on this journey. I really like to celebrate things... So any excuse is fine by me. I'm doing this by weeks, so I am starting my 9th week today. And I have some wonderful news!!..... My weigh in was this am!! What does that mean??

Well...

I've lost 15 pounds!

I have joined a new decade!

I am now down to the weight I was this time last year before I went on an eating spree...anything I lose from here is a new kind of negative in my eyes!

I am super excited. Too bad it's raining here in Washington... That means I must go face Jillian.

One Month

Today marks my one month anniversary on my weight loss journey. I'm pretty proud of myself so far. This month has been hard and challenging, but it has also revealed to me that I CAN do this.

As of today, I am down 9 pounds. It seems like so much weight, but at the same time, my pants still feel tight (how was I squeezing into them before?!) and I still look in the mirror and notice no difference on my body. But I am not going to let that discourage me. I KNOW I have been working hard and it has yielded results on the scale if no where else.

Exercise has gone really well for me. From going from nothing to working out almost every day for 30 days, I'm really happy. I am actually excited to go running now. Other work outs...not so much.

I'm off to complete my second work out of week 4 on the "couch to 5k".
